Specialist Decorative Finishes

We believe there are no limits to what we can create in this area of decorative art. Given our vast expertise our artisans are able to design, re-imagine or recreate the look of natural stones, woods, metals and other surface types such as gold, marble and lacquerwork.

Woodgraining

We are proud to carry on this ancient tradition that can be traced back 4000 years to Egypt and Asia. Also known as faux bois, this delicate art combines our understanding of nature with our talents as craftsmen to recreate the natural look of scarce and noble woods.

Marbling
Our team are also experienced in this thousand-year-old technique, which allows us to apply our artistic

and technical knowledge to the art of recreating precious stone and faux marble finishes.

Gilding

This exquisite technique has been used for centuries to decorate and embellish fine interiors with precious metal leaf. Our team is highly experienced in the application of all the variations of gold leaf and are skilled in oil gilding, modern (or burnished) water gilding and enamel gilding.

Trompe l'oeil

Few decorative techniques allow an artist the opportunity to showcase their artistic skills in such a playful way as trompe l’oeil. We love experimenting with colour, space and perspective to create these complex illusions of three-dimensional scenes and objects.

Murals

The murals we create for our clients are a beautiful expression of technique combined with storytelling. Our artists collaborate on concept design before executing the painting and installation of these bespoke creations.

Hand painted Chinoiserie
Our team can create or reproduce designs in the celebrated Chinese and Japanese painting style. This

versatile technique can be applied to interior walls and ceilings as well as furniture and decorative items.

Japanning

This art form pays homage to the traditional Japanese lacquering technique. We apply our knowledge to the finishing and ornamentation of furniture and decorative items such as screens, walls and cabinetry.

Gesso work

A technique dating back to Medieval and Renaissance times, we can carry out Gesso work to prepare smooth surfaces such as wood panels, plaster, stone, or canvas for tempera and oil painting, or for gilding and painting carved furniture.
